In 1986 the owners of the Foothills Mall hired Rory McCarthy and DBC to reinvent the center court of the then failing mall. Rory and Lead DBC architect at the time, Paul Edwards, fashioned an exciting and innovative response with the Old Pueblo Museum, a joint venture with the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and the Mall ownership. Unfortunately the core ten waterfall fabrication and all the remarkable machined detailing developed by Rory and Paul gave way to the pressures of the failing mall sometime in the 90’s.
